"Philip Brown Parsons 'Philip Parsons': A twentieth century painter, illustrator and etcher, Philip Parsons studied art at the Boston School of Painting and at M.I.T. He also took instructions in etching from W. H. Bicknell. He was a full member of the Guild of Boston Artists, the Boston Watercolor Society, Concord Art Association and President of the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society. Philip Parsons was also commissioned to paint historical scenes for Lexington and today these works are preserved in the collection of that community. A fine landscape and figure painter, Parsons first gained recognition in the early 1920's as an illustrator and cover artist for such publications as National Sportsman, Youth's Companion, Outdoors and 4-H Horizons" Art of the Print. | |
